Climate Reversing Technologies

From Research to Real-World Impact
In 2018, the Development Centre for Alternative Policies (DCAP) launched an ambitious initiative on Climate Reversing Technologies through its Startup Innovation Hub, Eccosmart Innovations. The goal is simple yet urgent: to turn cutting-edge research into practical, indigenous solutions that reverse environmental damage, reduce carbon footprints, and strengthen climate resilience on the ground.
Turning Innovation into Impact
Our work focuses on developing technologies that deliver measurable environmental benefits while remaining affordable, scalable, and locally adaptable.
Solid Waste Management
Our decentralised waste solutions are designed to completely eradicate landfill dependence and reduce unsegregated waste to zero level at source. Pilot initiatives demonstrate the potential to eliminate 100% of municipal solid waste from landfills, significantly lowering methane emissions as well as abating the waste by 98 percent at source and improving local operational efficiencies.

Water from Air – When Water is Scarce

In water-stressed regions like Vidarbha, we are field-testing Air-to-Water technologies that extract potable water from atmospheric moisture. Early trials show water yields of 150 - 200 litres per unit per day, offering a promising supplementary source of drinking water in drought-prone landscapes.
Graphene for a Greener Future
We are advancing graphene-based innovations that push the boundaries of sustainability. Our graphene-enabled water filtration systems demonstrate improved contaminant removal efficiency and longer shelf life compared to conventional suystems. Parallely, our R&D into graphene-reinforced green building materials has shown potential improvements in material strength, longer life cycles and durability, supporting 80% reduction in embodied carbon, enabling longer-lasting, low-carbon construction. Our lab tested energy efficient green building material with high thermal resistance shall help to reduce embodied energy of building materials and recurring energy consumption for the operational use of indoor built space by cooling or heating.
Why It Matters
Climate change demands solutions that work here and now. By combining traditional knowledge, modern science, and real-world testing, DCAP’s Climate Reversing Technologies initiative is creating pathways toward cleaner space, water security, resilient communities, and low-carbon infrastructure. Collectively, these pilots are generating policy-relevant evidence to inform scalable, climate responsive interventions.
We invite innovators, researchers, communities, partners, and supporters to join us in scaling solutions that move beyond mitigation—towards regeneration and climate reversal.
